Job Description

QUALIFICATION:
Successfully completed studies in Human Medicine -> 9-month basic training (rotation) -> specialization basic training as well as specialization focus training in the chosen specialization (duration between 63 and 72 months without studies - depending on the specialization) -> graduation with specialist examination at the Austria Medical Chamber  

Licensed Physician - Specialist Certification in "Forensic Medicine" or Specialist in clinical disciplines with relevant forensic experience

ACTIVITIES:
* Medical assessment and expert opinion preparation in the field of forensics (social, labor, traffic, and court cases)
* Assessment of injuries, causal investigation, reconstruction of accident or crime sequences
* Collaboration with the police, public prosecutor's office, courts, forensic medicine, and other specialist departments
* Investigational activities, documentation, reporting, and support of court proceedings
* Participation in quality management, clinical research, or evidence-based research
* Providing necessary expert opinions, opinions on legal issues, and advising institutions
* Teaching, continuing education, and supervision of medical staff

A - Practical professional experience (10+ years) in the specialist field B - Ideally, additional training in forensic medicine, criminology, or expert opinion techniques C - Ideally, experience in modern forensic diagnostics (photographic documentation) D - Ideally, experience in modern forensic diagnostics (anthropological/toxicological fundamentals) E - In-depth knowledge of forensic diagnostics, documentation, and expert opinion F - Strong counselling and communication skills, strong judgment, sense of responsibility G - Ability to work in an interdisciplinary manner and handle sensitive issues H - Resilience, structured work, independence & empathy I - Willingness to be on call occasionally and to conduct assessments beyond normal working hours J - Very good written and spoken German skills; English & further language skills advantageous
